Content Optimizer

OPTIMIZE CONTENT ON A PAGE

  1. Log into WebWiz@rd

  2. Click on the Standard Modules tab

  3. Click on the Content Optimizer module

  4. Click on the View issues details icon (the eye) to see what needs to be optimized on the live version of page content

  5. Clone the live page to make the optimizations by clicking on the Clone this content icon (the two pages) (remember we never make changes on a live website page)

  6. Click the Optimize this content for AODA & SEO icon (the speedometer) to then see what needs to be optimized

  7. Several tabs will appear at the top of the page Bandwidth Issues, Image Issues, Page Structure Issues, and Link Issues

  8. Choose the tab that you need to update the content

  9. For Bandwidth Issues, click the Use Resizer Tool button

  10. You will then be taken to the Image Editor module

  11. You can resize the image to the proper size you are showing the image on the page and save it to the File Manager

  12. Go back into the page you were optimizing and change out the image for the new one you saved in the File Manager

  13. Click Save button at the top left-hand side of the page

  14. Click on the Optimize this content for AODA and SEO icon (the speedometer) of the page you are continuing to optimize

  15. If you still need to make changes in the Bandwidth Issues tab, continue repeating steps 7 to 11

  16. If you have finished in the Bandwidth Issues tab, then click on the Image Issues tab

  17. In the Image Issues tab make sure all the images have an Alt Attribute

  18. If required, click on the Edit Page button beside the image that needs to be updated under Recommendation

  19. You will then go into the page content where you can locate the image and right click on it and go to Image Properties

  20. Add the **Alternative Text (**the image description) in the Image Info tab

  21. Click OK

  22. Click Save button at the top left-hand side of the page

  23. Click on the Optimize this content for AODA and SEO icon (the speedometer) of the page you are continuing to optimize

  24. If you still need to make changes in the Image Issues tab repeat steps 14 to 20

  25. If you have finished with the Image Issues tab, then click on the Page Structure Issues tab

  26. In the Page Structure Issues tab make sure all the content on the page is setup correctly

  27. If required, click on the Edit Page button beside the content that needs to be updated under Recommendation

  28. You will then go into the page content where you can locate the content and make the necessary correction to make the content optimized

  29. Click Save button at the top left-hand side of the page

  30. Click on the Optimize this content for AODA and SEO icon (the speedometer) of the page you are continuing to optimize

  31. If you still need to make changes in the Page Structure Issues tab repeat steps 24 to 27

  32. If you have finished with the Page Structure Issues tab, then click on the Links Issues tab

  33. In the Links Issues tab make sure all the links have Nondescriptive Link Text and Excessive Link Text

  34. If required, click on the Edit Page button beside the link that needs to be updated under Recommendation

  35. You will then go into the page content where you can locate the link and right click on it and go to Edit Link

  36. Click on the Advanced tab

  37. Add the Advisory Title (the link name) and the Advisory Content Type (the link URL)

  38. Click OK

  39. Click Save button at the top left-hand side of the page

  40. Click on the Optimize this content for AODA and SEO icon (the speedometer) of the page you are continuing to optimize

  41. If you still need to make changes in the Links Issues tab repeat steps 30 to 37

  42. If you have completed all the optimizations to the page, you can then make the page live by clicking the Launch this version as the active version icon (the rocket ship) beside the version of the page you just optimized
