# Create a Google Business Account

# Written Walkthrough

The first step to utilizing Google’s services is creating an account.


 1. Visit the following URL to start the process: <https://workspace.google.com/business/signup/newbusiness>  
 2. Click the **Get a Gmail address** button  
 3. Enter your **first** **name** and **last name** and click **Next**.

    **Who’s Information Should I Use?**

    Although this account will be used to manage your business, the Google account itself must be tied to a real person. Use the name and birthday of a trusted individual, such as the business owner or an employee responsible for your website, marketing, or online presence. Google may use this personal information to verify identity or assist with account recovery if needed.

 4. Enter your birthday and gender and click **Next.**  
 5. Enter the email username you’d like to use for this account. This is the name you'll use when logging in. It's often a good idea to use your company name or something easily recognizable and business-related. When finished, click **Next.**  
 6. Create a strong password and click **Next.**

    We strongly recommend using a password manager to create and store unique, randomly generated passwords for each of your online accounts. This greatly reduces the risk of your accounts being compromised through brute-force attacks or data breaches where shared passwords are leaked.

 7. Add a recovery email address. In the event that you forget your login credentials, this can be used to recover your account. Make sure you verify that you have access to this account before entering it. While this step is *optional* it is *highly recommended*. When done, click **Next.**

    
 8. Review your information and then click **Next.**

    
 9. Review the privacy policy and terms and then click **I agree.**  
10. The next screen prompts you to set up your business profile. For the purposes of these instructions, you can skip this step for now. Click **Not Now** to continue.  
11. The next screen will include an offer of a free trial offer, click **Not Now.**  
12. Finally, you will arrive at your Google Account Dashboard, and you are ready to start using your account.
