Windows Operating System

Using the Snipping Tool

  • Press the Windows logo key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool.

  • Use the snipping tool to capture your entire screen (URL/search bar included)

  • The snipped image will be copied to your clipboard.

Chrome

Using the Print Screen Key (PrtSc):

  1. Press the "Print Screen" (PrtSc) button, typically located in the top right corner of your keyboard. This captures the entire screen and puts a copy of the image into your clipboard. You can then paste the image into a photo editing program or document.

  2. You can also press Alt + Print Screen to capture the active window.

Edge

  2. press Ctrl + Shift + S on your keyboard; this will open the "Web capture" feature where you can choose to capture the entire page or a specific area of the screen. 

  3. Right click with your mouse, and select Screen Shot from the drop down

Firefox

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + S on your keyboard; this will open the "Web capture" feature where you can choose to “Save Full Page” or “Save Visible”

  2. Right click with your mouse, and select Screen Shot from the drop down. Here you can select “Save Full Page” or “Save Visible” and from there select where to save it to.


MacOS

Capture the entire screen

  1. To take a screenshot, press and then release these three keys together: Shift, Command, and the 3 key.

  2. If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Or wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.

By default, screenshots and screen recordings save to your desktop with the name ”Screen Shot [date] at [time].png” or “Screen Recording [date] at [time].mov.” Or you can drag the thumbnail that appears in the corner of your screen, then drop it in another location.
